Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.

Good morning to you too, SB! Thank you. It makes me feel good to know that someone enjoys my photos. :) I don't know if I've ever said so, but it means a lot that you take the time to read the poems and other writings, too. That alone makes keeping up this blog worthwhile to me. :)

Hope you're having a good day today. It looks like the sun's shining brightly this morning. That's always a good thing. Sunshine is good for whatever ails ya'. ♥ (So are hugs!)

Although Gene wasn't technically MY uncle, I always thought of him as such. Since I'm not going to be able to go to the graveside service this afternoon, I wanted to pay my respects somehow. Sure hope his family is holding up alright. :(

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...

(I don't know who wrote it, but it's always been one of my personal favorites.)

Thank you, Rose. I appreciate you posting that. It is also one of my favorites. (And I think Mary Frye wrote the original verses, though someone else had it copyrighted many years later). It gives a very romantic outlook on death and the passing of loved ones. It's my kinda' poem. Thank you again. :)
