IV-TIME AND ETERNITY

XXXIV

The daisy follows soft the sun,
And when his golden walk is done,
Sits shyly at his feet.
He, waking, finds the flower near.
"Wherefore, marauder, art thou here?"
"Because, sir, love is sweet!"

We are the flower, Thou the sun!
Forgive us, if as days decline,
We nearer steal to Thee, --
Enamoured of the parting west,
The peace, the flight, the amethyst,
Night's possibility!

Good morning to you too, SB!! Thank you for the compliment on my pic. :) As far as the poem...here's my interpretation of it. (Of course, I could be wrong. Just humor me. LOL)

The first verse basically says that she not only follows him, but waits for his return. When he finds her waiting and asks why she is doing so, she says that it's because she loves him.

The second verse is a little harder to understand (for me anyway). I believe what it means is that, as the days pass, she wants to get closer to him (or feels closer to him). Seems to me like she's saying that he brings her the things that help her get through the dark night....peace and inspiration...and that he's as precious to her as a gem. (Like I said, I could be wrong about this whole thing. haha)

Anyway...I hope you have a great day today. Keep your feathers dry!! :)
