The Sun

Have you ever seen
anything
in your life
more wonderful

than the way the sun,
every evening,
relaxed and easy,
floats toward the horizon

and into the clouds or the hills,
or the rumpled sea,
and is gone--
and how it slides again

out of the blackness,
every morning,
on the other side of the world,
like a red flower

streaming upward on its heavenly oils,
say, on a morning in early summer,
at its perfect imperial distance--
and have you ever felt for anything
such wild love--
do you think there is anywhere, in any language,
a word billowing enough
for the pleasure

that fills you,
as the sun
reaches out,
as it warms you

as you stand there,
empty-handed--
or have you too
turned from this world--

or have you too
gone crazy
for power,
for things?

LOL...Are you still makin' sure that you're alive, SB?? :P

This is one of my very favorite poems lately. It delivers a wonderful message. Also, the description is so vivid that I can close my eyes and imagine the warm sun on my skin...and can see it lighting up the world around me. It's a goodern, for sure. :)

As far as CRPSD, I think it's pronounced CRAP-SUD and it's very onomatopoea-ic. LOL I still like "Wheet Wheeeel" better, though. Only one person would sing with me over at Rose's blog. C'mon, you can help me sing it. :P

*'Cause I'm a picker, I'm a grinner, I'm a lover and I'm a sinner. I play my music in the suu-u-uun.*

(As you can see, I have an Ohrwurm. LOL)

LMAO!!! Yes, I see it now! hehe :P

And you're welcome for the "not makin' ya' sing" stuff. I wouldn't wanna' have to twist your arm or anything. ;)

LOL...That may very well be the truth. I sometimes wonder.

It turned out to be a gorgeous day today, didn't it?? I feel the exact same way about the sun that the lady who wrote this poem did. Makes me feel soooo good. :)
